Please don’t be ashamed of Uttar Pradesh yet. Congress ruled the State for the Majority of the duration Pre Independence to Post Independence.. from 1939 to 1989 ( barring the Periods of Emergency.. Thanks to your Grand Mom Indira G. and a couple of transitional Governments)

8 out of the total 14 Prime Ministers of India have been from UP, 6 out of those 8 have been from Congress…

I think your party had more than half a century and half a Dozen PM’s to build a State…

The Reason Mulayam Singh, subsequently came to Power is because your party wasn’t exactly Gandhian in their dealings in the State.. So May be If you look at in totality the present chaos in UP is the outcome of the glorious leadership displayed by Congress in UP for about 50 years!

So Please don’t feel ashamed as yet Dear Rahul.. For Mayawati is only using the Land Acquisition Bill which your party had itself used to LOOT the Farmers many times in the Past!

WHY DIDN’T YOUR PARTY CHANGE THE BILL WHEN IT WAS IN POWER FOR SO LONG?

Not that I Endorse what Mayawati is doing.. What Mayawati is doing is Unacceptable..

But the past actions of your party and your recent comments, puts a question mark on your INTENT and CONSISTENCY.

YOU REALLY WANT TO FEEL ASHAMED

But don’t be disappointed, I would give you ample reasons to feel ashamed…

Ask Manmohan Singh. Why/What kept him quiet for so long?

Who let the BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY Accused go Scot Free? ( 20,000 People died in that Tragedy)

I guess you know the answers already. So my question is, why the Double Standards in Judging Mayawati and members of your Family and Party?

Your Party gave those Farmers a 72,000 Crore Loan Waiver. Which didn't even reach the Farmers by the way.

So, Why don't you focus on implementing the policies which your govt. has undertaken, instead of earning brownie points by trying to manufacture consent by bombarding us with pictures of having food with Poor Villagers....

You want to feel ashamed. You can feel ashamed for your Party taking CREDIT for DEBITING the Public Money (72,000 crores) from the Government Coffers and literally Wasting it...

WHY ONLY HIGHLIGHT THIS ARREST?

Dear Rahul, to refresh your memory, you were arrested/detained by the FBI the BOSTON Airport in September 2001.

You were carrrying with you $ 1,60,000 in Cash ( Similar to the Arrest of Rahet Fateh Ali Khan recently, because you han't decared that Amount) . US allowed $ 10,000 cash at Immigration.

9 HOURS he was kept at the Airport.

He was later freed on the intervention of the then Prime Minister Mr.Vajpayee.. FBI filed an equivalent of an FIR in US and released him.

When FBI was asked to divulge the information for the reasons Rahul was arrested by Right/Freedom to Information Activists... FBI asked for a NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from Rahul Gandhi.

So Subramaniyam Swami wrote a Letter to Rahul Gandhi, " If you have NOTHING to HIDE, Give us the Permission"

HE NEVER REPLIED!

Why did that arrest not make Headlines Rahul? You could have gone to the Media and told, "I am ashamed to call myself an INDIAN?".

Or is it that, you only do like to highlight Symbolic Arrests (like in UP) and not Actual Arrests ( In BOSTON)

Because it so happens RAHET FATEH ALI KHAN'S recent arrest was Splashed in the Media and Your arrest in 2001 hardly got a MENTION..

You could feel a little ashamed about Lying about your Educational Qualifications. You had your reasons I know, because in India, WE RESPECT EDUCATION!

Now you want Youth to Join Politics.

I say First you Join Politics.

Because you haven't joined politics. You have joined a Family Business.

First you join Politics. Win an Election fighting as RAUL VINCI and Not Rahul Gandhi, then come and ask the youth and the Educated Brass for more involvement in Politics.

Also till then, Please don't give me examples of Sachin Pilot and Milind Deora and Naveen Jindal as youth who have joined Politics..

They are not Politicians. They just happen to be Politicians.

Much Like Abhishek Bachchan and other Star Sons are not Actors. They just happen to be Actors (For Obvious Reasons)

So, We would appreciate if you stop requesting the Youth to Join Politics till you establish your credentials...

Umrabee Shaikh

Twenty kilometres away from Aurangabad, there is a small village adjacent to the main road called Farola. After walking for almost two kilometres on a "kachha" road and then another couple of yards through kada-kichad(during rainy season), you will reach the house of Umrabee Shaikh. Umrabee is approximately 65 years old. She doesn't know her birth date. She was wearing a white salwaar kameez the day i visited her. She has infinite wrinkles on her face. When you look at her eyes, you see the suffering she has been through her whole life. Umrabee lives alone. She has been living alone since a long time.

Umrabee tells me that she was married off at a age when she did not even understand what marriage meant. Only after a couple of years of her marriage her husband disowned her. She had nowhere to go except her parents house. She decided that she would not marry again and has been living alone ever since.

Since Farola is located off the main road, the village has been affected by the incredible industrialisation in both good and bad ways. The rapid industrialisation has provided the local youth with employment oppurtunities. On the other hand, people have lost their farm lands. The industries have brought along the pollution of the ground water, air and soil. This discouraged the farmer to plough his land. It encourages him to abandon his land and work as a labourer in the industry.

Umrabee's house has been provided by the Gram Pachayat under the Indira Gandhi Prayas Yojana Scheme. Though she has a house to live in now, but the house lacks the basic facilities which usually accompanies a house. She doesn't have a tap in the house,no water tank, no stove, no cooking gas, no cooking oil, no bed, no fan, nothing. She walks a kilometre at her age to get her water. She collects dry leaves, figs and uses them to cook her food.

She has a constant pain in her knees and does not get proper treatment in her village. She cannot afford to go to a big village doctor for treatment. She neither has the resources nor the means.
You will see her running here and there after her 'murgis'(chicken). She's got three hens and one cock. She has two goats. The goat reproduces twice a year. And the kid sells for Rs2500-Rs3000. Hence, these acts as modes of income generation for her, the only modes of income generation. She goes out during the daytime to feed her two goats. The goats seem to be her best friends. She loves them like her children.

Her biggest challenge is to cook for herself. Right from the availability of food grains and vegetable to the fact that she has to cook only for herself everyday of her life. Umrabee gets a certain amount of wheat from a relative of hers. But these grains dont last long. And even if she has grains, she doesn't have vegetables or dal or anything to eat with. Neither does she have materials like cooking oil, kerosene, masala powder, etc. She tells me that sometimes she goes to sleep without having any food at all. I wonder how often this sometimes is.

Umrabee is one amongst thousands and thousands of women like these in our country. No savings, no children, no income, no one to rely on, nothing. That is the kind of life they live everyday.

Planning

I was never a planner in my life until a few months back. Now, i love to plan. I feel a little crippled and out of focus if i don't plan. Planning makes sure i have a task in hand in a organised fashion because there are too many things to do in too less time.
I used to look down at planners (not the ones who always achieve what they want to).
Tell me people, how important is planning in your lives?
Plans vary from buying a dress or cracking an exam to spending the weekend in a village to visiting a distant city. Plans are of all kinds, all intensities, various shapes and various sizes.
There is one thing common all these plans require, a simple 9-letter word called 'execution'.
I am going to start with a plan. yes, i am going to ;) (with a plan). I have a lot of things on mind which i want to do. And i won't be able to do them if i dont plan it out. So the plan will be followed by an execution of the plan. I dont know how long will it take but i am sure its gonna take at least 6 months. just need to make sure that the monotonicity stays away. And PPC prevails.

letting it out

just another day apart from the fact that i woke up early at 8am to make sure i fell asleep by 12 for the IIFT exam tomorrow. Suddenly, out of the blue, i felt this need to vent out. So here i am, writing a post on a blog which no one is going to read. (as it is hidden). Giving the exam tomorrow is a formality, a formality as i had filled up the form, paid in cash and now i have to sit for the exam. This feeling was not there but an hour back it suddenly erupted (out of the blue :P )

Each Day has a Story

Each day has to a story to be told. Thats how life goes as in if you dont have a story-to-be-told everyday, there are various additions to be made in your life. Basically, what i mean here that everyday has its own kind of value-addition.
I'll share mine of today. Day started off at 10am as usual (nowadays) The first thing i do in the morning is look at my phone then i fill up the bucket and attend to nature's call. I wasted time for a few hours then i finally started studying at 12.10pm. Suddenly, after lunch i could not continue anymore. For the first time, i was panicking, had a load on my chest, mind you it was not the shoulders, only the chest. The heart thumped, i could hear it, it was not beating faster but it was baeting stronger, so strong that i could feel each beat. thump thump thump. Damn, what am i suppose to do, be more courageous, try to relax my self, hope on hope, forget it, try and do the more important thing, i tried but to no avail. I got a cigarette then, it helped me ease.
In between, i made a couple of phone calls as i need to arrange macro notes asap, time is really running out, time ahead is going to be fun, fun because it is challenging. I like challenges on my own terms. Collected back my notes from tushar, gave them to Nashith in the evening. By the way i swam for the first time this year (in a pool). Ran all the way to reach on time so that i dont miss swimming.
I could not study, i was sleepy but old habits dont go away easily, i guess this will take time.
Well i'll sign off off now.

Let It Out

Suddenly, my eyes were brim and then i started smiling, few minutes later i cried a little, then again i smiled. I had thought that All of This would be easy (or maybe a little difficult) and i would manage things easily but this crying (out of the blue) doesn't make sense. For that matter, everything isn't suppose to make sense all the time but i keep running after things till they make total sense to me. Thats just the way i am.
So whom shall i blame for these CIRCUMSTANCES, i guess no one. I cannot blame myself for the circumstances here because i was born with them as in by default.(the circumstances here are different) My mom said "badhu aavuj che, chalavu pade, aaj jindagi che"(sab kuch aisa hi hai, chalana padta hai, issi ka naam zindagi hai). I said yes its fine, i am not complaining, i am just letting you know because i get a little tired (sometimes) of your complaints.
I grew up too fast because of my circumstances, not because i was fast. Question, what were these circumstances. Well, i feel they are too personal to be shared even on a blog which probably no one is reading because i have told no one about this blog. When i was 15 or so, my "friends" in school used to bully me saying "Hardik, why so serious? Relax, try to have fun". Well, they never understood that fun for me was something else. It was not not hitting each other (all the time), hit and run. Well, just for the records, it was not that i did not like their ways always. Infact, a lot of times we had fun. (my kind of fun).
I dont feel like writing anymore, so wait for the next post. Bye.
